Abstract
Journalist Lisa N. Peterson in her true-crime memoir, The Look-Back Window: A Journalist’s Memory of Murders, Men, and the Media, revisits her life as a newspaper reporter in the 1980s when she covered the woodchipper murder case and the disappearance of Regina Brown in Newtown, Connecticut. In this work of creative non-fiction, Peterson recounts how decades later she returned to investigate domestic violence victim Regina Brown’s cold case and the effect it had on her as she rediscovered her past as a childhood sexual abuse survivor.
